This story focuses on the relationship of Art Dealer Max Rothman played brilliantly by John Cusack and a young Adolf Hitler played by Noah Taylor. It's good points are that the way that it portrays the relationship and how it affected the both of them There is real warmth in John Cusacks character although he also has his flaws. The backdrop to the story is the circumstances of Germany post WW1 and it looks at how Hitler might have risen to the power that he did. The only negative I would put is the accents and the fact that there were so many actors who didn't bother to put on any german accent so it was ridicilous to have a scottish german soldier and even John Cusack had an american accent. The brilliant ending to this film was fantastic.
