I'll recomend this to anyone, assuming they have an attention span longer than that of the typical Eastenders viewer. Alan Bates and all the other major actors could not be any better. It bares the typical BBC drama hallmarks, poor lighting, bad sound and of course the extra with no acting talent is given a small speaking part. But it's a great watch and a fantastic story.
On another note those fools in blue shirts (Tesco people) sent me the same disk twice!
what a wonderful english actor. An excellent characterisation in a realistic adaptation of Hardy's novel.
