This series is one of those bloodless, grit-free, lighter-than-air trifles that US TV used to be so good at - and you know what, I loved every minute!
If you're a fan of old movies, deadpan comedy or just a quiet chuckle, these short murder mysteries should fit the bill. Rock Hudson underplays it beautifully, even managing to make me laugh out loud in places, while Susan Saint James overacts in a class of her own (in this case that's a good thing, trust me, she's a scream). The writers knew that the plots would play second fiddle to the players, but the show is all the better for all. A real tonic.
