4th February 2007

An exploration of one young adolescent girl's painful experiences of love, seduction, disillusionment and abuse. Although truthful in many respects, one wonders at the motives of the movie-makers. I wasn't entirely convinced. However, the young Italian girl who plays Melissa is very good indeed and it was interesting to see Geraldine Chaplin as the grandmother, shining as brightly as ever, even in a non-starring role.
