Owing debts to both Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo and the Dirk Bogarde vehicle Libel, this is the central segment of a mid-sixties suspense trilogy from director Raj Khosla. As in Woh Kuan Thi and Anita, Sadhana takes on a dual role, first as the dying spouse of wealthy lawyer Sunil Dutt and then as the opportunist with gangland connections who seeks to persuade a court that she is Dutt's real wife. Lacing the trial action with domestic flashbacks and dream dance sequences, Khosla settles for a disappointingly sensationalist resolution. However, he skilfully manipulates expectations and draws a suitably skittish performance from Sadhana.
It was very nice to watch this old movie. Sunil Dutt looks very handsome and Sadhna looks very beautiful. The story is good and so are the songs. So njoy folks.
Its so great to watch an old bollywood films, when there were some standards. Both Sunil Dutt & Sadhana act well in this film. The story is OK - not really that suspensefull. But the real winner is the music. Can you believe Yash Chopra used the Madan Mohan gimmick, on the crap that is Veer Zaara. Mera Saaya are the kind of songs he should be remembered for!!
Watch this film, if only for the music and of course the lovely Sunil Dutt & Sadhna
