Prepare to be awed !!!By Greg Brown from Peterborough, UK , 01 Aug 2006
[Highly rated reviewer]Once in a while, a film comes along that defies all the expectations of it's genre. In the eighties it was Die Hard, Bruce Willis' shot in the arm for action cinema. In the nineties, John Woo wowed us with the magnificent Face Off. Now, here in the noughties, Steven Segal brings us the incredible Mercenary For Justice.
Never has a film exceeded every expectation you could expect than this masterclass of acting, action and story. Segal's John Seeger is a complex, war weary man. His freindships forged from the blood and bullets world of the military. In this film when one of his men goes down, you feel the pain as surely as if it were your own. Segal's abilty to emote pain and suffering from a mere facial expression has never been more genuine or indeed moving. Upon the untimely demise of his radio operator, i found myself close to tears.
Segal has also studied his peers and learnt well. We saw De Niro do it for Raging Bull, we saw Clooney do it for Syriana more recently. But this man takes it one step further, Seeger's obvious ( unmentioned ) medical condition which means he simply ' puts on weight ' is starkly shown by Segal's physical appearance. A brave move for this movie tough guy, but it just shows you how determined the man is to show every flaw and weakness in his character's make up.
The rest of the cast are firing on all cylinders, most notably Luke Goss as the CIA bad guy. Indeed, the ensemble cast of Oscar winner 'Crash' must be heaving a combined sigh of relief that this movie was released after the January deadline.
If Segal continues to produce films of this calibre it's only a matter of time before he stands on the podium collecting his golden statue, this film is a triumph in every sense of the word !

Absolute RubbishBy ClintM (1 review) , 25 Feb 2013Seeing as I have to give a star rating, I can only give it half, I'd love to give it zero, it is the second worst movie I have ever seen, in fact I couldn't get passed the first 20 minutes, the acting is diabolical, and predictable.
Exceedingly poorBy a customer , 16 Dec 2011
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideI like Seagal and think that he is a great actor but this production, was very poor. No plot, Supporting actors weak and just lots of gun fire and nearly every other word is the f*** word. I felt robbed of my time.

Mercenary for JusticeBy a customer from midhurst england , 21 Mar 2011This was a good watch, predictable action thriller with the usual fights and actions. Steven Stegal was still good as usual and the story was credible.
Don't mess with Seagal!By a customer from UK , 04 Mar 2010Decent film, typical Seagal really. Average story line.
A couple of minor twists, but nothing spectacular.
Best action scene is the beggining in my opinion. But worth a watch if you like Seagal's other films.
