Mere Jeevan Saathi is one of the superhit romantic movies of the late 60s, an era recognized for its musical hits. The plot of the movie revolves around an artist-painter, Prakash (Rajesh Khanna) who has lost his memory. Prakash falls in love with Jyoti (Tanuja) a doctor who helps him regain his memory. Prakash regains his memory only to find himself in a scheme of deceit. When finally the part of his past is resolved and he is set to marry Jyoti, he looses his eyesight in an accident and once again winds up in the evil schemes, trapped by the cruel princess. With love on his side, he once again escapes his formentors only to find the object of his love in the arms of another.
