Mad scientist Dr Aranya (Jackie Coogan in a patently obvious fake beard) is creating a race of superwomen using the venom of tarantula spiders. Hero Richard Travis is led by Aranya's lobotomised ex-partner Harmon Stevens back to the mysterious Mexican mesa and engineers the explosive climax. Incredibly cheesy Grade-Z trash featuring a bevy of 1950s starlets as the bikini-clad women, depressing not-so-special effects and unintentional hilarity from start to finish. A must-see camp classic or to be avoided at all costs depending on one's point of view. The same flamenco jazz score was reused for Ed Wood's Jailbait.
Bizarre B-movie, ineptly directed, with portentous voice-over, a score played by piano and guitar, and two mad scientists, one of them one-eyed, as well as scantily clad female assistants and dwarfs, operating from a laboratory carved into a mountainside.
