    [Highly rated reviewer]

Christopher Lambert must have been really in need of the cash to get involved in this load of tripe. Really awful film using the infamous name of Elizabeth Bathory to throw together an unoriginal tale of American students on the loose in darkest eastern Europe in search of the truth behind the legend. Not an original idea in it's seemingly endless running time, the only thing to cheer me up was the death of the usual idiot side kick of the so called Hero. This hero is played by Corey Sevier who acts almost as well as the trees behind him in some scenes, and who only has to have sex with the vampire girl to fall head over heels 'I will do anything for her' in love. And she didn't even compel him! Writer not watching Vampire Chronicles else he would have stolen that idea too no doubt.

One star because the film was exposed and the countryside is beautiful.

If you don't know the legend you'll be not much the wiser after watching the film. Very light on content and acting abilities. Just a good excuse to show a bit of teenage 'horror' nonsense. Disappointing!
