So Bad It's FunnyBy Broddr (1 review) from Dunfermline , 29 Mar 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]While I don't think this is as bad as some reviewers, (surprisingly, I have seen worse!) I would still say it is pretty bad.
From actors who have obviously not been told where the CG will be added post filming, and therefore completely ignoring meteorites that land right beside them, to a lead actor who seems to have it written into his contract that his entire contribution to the film is nothing more than cruising around on a harley, this film has ticked all the boxes in the 'big list of what not to do'.
The effects are simply awful. With the exception of two big set pieces, which are themselves terrible, the 'meteor storm' is mostly confined to white streaks across the sky in the background.
I was amazed to see that some scenes which would be easy to film were done with superimposition.
A character standing by the roadside making a phone call, for example, is quite obviously not standing in Sand Francisco. He is in front of bluescreen with stock footage of San Francisco behind him.
This is the case on many different occasions.
Why set the film in San Francisco if you are unable to film that city's famous areas?
The plot is terrible. Characters that try and explain what is happening may as well be saying 'Well the meteors are hitting us because it is a Wednesday in the space time continuum and God is having scones for his dinner!'
Some of the characters are horrible. An air force general who just points at his subordinates and yells 'Just solve the problem - nothing is impossible!'
For the whole film I was hoping someone would turn around and tell him to fly, or create lime jelly from his eyes. Nothing is impossible.
Either that or hit him over the head with a chair.
It's just bad.
However, for me it is just into that realm of awfulness where a film actually becomes entertaining simply by being so rubbish so is watchable for that reason.
Get your friends and family around the TV and just rip it to bits for a laugh!
If you are looking for a serious disaster flick with stunning special effects like huge meteors destroying cities then I would suggest watching something else as this is not the film for you.
If you are like me and can find a little bit of enjoyment in watching something so awful and have your brain melted by the fact that someone actually spends the time and effort to make films like this then have fun with 'Meteor Storm'.

Who's gonna die first...By a customer , 04 Dec 2013I have a secret passion for low budget awful B disaster movies. not sure why, maybe because I can guess the plot in the first five mins. I play 'Who's gonna die first' 'Guess the next awful line...' so really top of the range for awful! Great B stuff.
Perfectly AdequateBy DJGhost (4 reviews) , 20 Nov 2013A perfectly adequate disaster movie, although it does use a lot of stock disaster film cliches, so many films do these days that it is not much of a surprise. The acting varies from adequate to fairly good whilst the effects are mediocre but not abysmal. How much you enjoy this film will depend largely on the expectations you have going into it. All in all it is not a bad film, but I did find myself cataloging my CDs whilst I watched it - so it hardly holds all of your attention on it's own.
This is a great B movieBy seniormole (9 reviews) from Midlands , 04 Nov 2013This is a great B movie possibly C, the central character will probably get the sack when its all over and done and the science is very iffy the dialogue is awful; but its a great watch if you are not expecting art or great storytelling or marvellous special effects, just sit back and smile your way through it.
A good, enjoyable filmBy sassywriter (8 reviews) , 27 Sep 2013I wouldn't call it the best film I've ever seen, but then again, no one claimed it was a blockbuster. There are thousands of films that are good, but not great and this was one of them. It was a good, enjoyable film to watch.
