Surprisingly adequate for a later Murphy film
Metro review

Michael Wincott always makes for an amusing villain, and his voice is perfect for the role of a villain, hence me watching this. I wasn't paying attention when choosing this, else I'd have realised that Eddie Murphy is in it, too. Still, despite it being later in Murphy's career, it's a surprisingly adequate film. It's a thriller, with a plot not entirely divorced from that of Nighthawks, with Murphy in the Stallone role. The difference is, Metro is fun to watch. It's not a comedy vehicle for Murphy, although he is given some rein to play up the 'brother' stereotype so beloved of movies featuring black people. All-in-all, it's a fun, entertaining flick. Switch off your brain, tuck in to some popcorn, and enjoy.
