Underground Animation Disturbs Without Explanation

Metropia is dark like a Tim Burton film set in the toilets of an eerily deserted nuclear bunker. It suffocates you with gray monotones and darkened blue hues to enforce an idea of repression which draws you into a soulless world where life is never questioned. The story alludes to a fuel shortage and while portraying astonishing technical innovation the convoluted plot is soullessly examined by an absent author lazily relying on aesthetic to convince. Worth a rent on artistic merit but ultimately a slight disappointment.- Was this review helpful to you?
