Slow, boring and very long....
I have given this film 1 star just because it has George Clooney in it, otherwise it wouldnt have got any!- Was this review helpful to you?

(848)Filling but undernourishing
By theorganicdomino (22 reviews) , 13 May 2013[Highly rated reviewer]
Well made, efficiently directed, solid performances, some tension but just a little bit dull in parts really. Theres a certain monotony to the pace and style of the film and considering the plaudits Clooney was given for his performance I was surprised at how one note his characterisation was, not bad, but not really a stretch for an actor. Not a film to write off, just not particularly remarkable in any way.- Was this review helpful to you?

In the top 5 best films
By Valybobs (11 reviews) , 17 Feb 2013Intense, suspenseful and understated. Emotional, though-provoking and well-acted. Anyone wanting to watch a fairly unique take on the corporate sleaze world will likely enjoy this.- Was this review helpful to you?

Complicated but rewarding
By Fangg (28 reviews) from Newtonmore , 13 Jan 2013Kudos are due to this film, mainly because in the first twenty minutes i had no idea what the film was about, who was talking, what the plot was doing, and was bordering on giving up because i 'wasn't getting it'. Then come two hours later i found i had stared at the screen utterly engrossed. The narrative structure and the performances seemed to pull all the threads into the one place come the gripping finale, and leave one satisfied that a decent, welcome ending had been reached.
The main reason for all of this has to be George Clooney; i hate to admit that. Yes, he may be playing the same character he always plays, but wheres the problem with that? Unlike (for example, vince vaughan, who also always plays the same character, but which character is almost unwatchable), George is so good at who he does that he could drive the whole film with no problems. Its only a bonus that he has the fantastic Tom Wilkinson and the odd - looking but undeniably good Tilda Swinton as support. Plus a rather neat little appearance from TV's Dexter's Angelo Bautista for us TV geeks to smile about.- Was this review helpful to you?
