A visual treat
By a customer from Jersey, CI , 31 Aug 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
This film eschews the normal conventions of wildlife documentary by deliberately anthropomorphising its miniscule inhabitants, to the extent that plants appear to be caressing each other and snails entwine in a slow-motion slimy embrace. At times breathtakingly beautiful and at others sinister, Microcosmos is a triumph of visual style delivered with a surprisingly warm and human feel, considering that its subject matter is bugs and creepy crawlies. Definitely one to watch, but not while you're eating.- Was this review helpful to you?

(15)Relaxing but uninformative.
By Bazcat (7 reviews) , 23 Apr 2012It's pretty good for 90s camera work, but when it says 'Starring' Kristen Scott Thomas, she only speaks about two lines in it. The rest is just video with no narration. Good if you want to relax but not if you want wildlife info.- Was this review helpful to you?

Fab and thought provoking
By a customer , 12 Jan 2012At first I thought this would be a bit dull, although I usually love all the David Attenborough stuff. Bit it was really fantastic and interestingly my girls ( aged 10) were entranced and asked so many questions...... probably one of the best nature films I've seen..... and LOVED the persistent dung bettle.- Was this review helpful to you?

Visually appealing.
By Unique_Geek (5 reviews) , 07 Dec 2011Visually, this film is stunning. But for me, I found it kind of boring, personally I find things more interesting if there's a narrator, and this film doesn't have one. Not that you need one to know what's going on mind you, but I still found it a struggle to watch to the end.- Was this review helpful to you?

Customer Review
By a customer from UK , 23 Jun 2008Ooooooooh this is so gorgeous, especially if you're recovering from illness, stress, feeling down, or just stuck in on a rainy day or listing to a childs first sentences. such as Stag beetle..."fierce" Bee orchid...."Happy"
Another of my favourite films. There are some special places such as ancient chalk downland at times when the surroundings buz and rustle.
It absorbes and moves and uplifts you, this beautiful film does just that.- Was this review helpful to you?
