As with many of the best thrillers, the opening scene makes no sense at all until the end. But this in no way spoils another excellent episode. The bizarre manner of the deaths, and the science fiction theme throughout the storyline, leaves the viewer wondering what on earth (or not!) is going on. As an avid Midsomer Murders fan, this must rate as one of the most peculiar episodes - and the most enjoyable.
