This is a good quality DVD: unlike many colour films from this period, the picture is sharp, and the colours bright and natural, which is particularly important given the many picturesque shots in the film of the river Ganga and its surrounds. While there are no obvious story gaps, one song (Latas Aaj dil pe koi zor chalta nahin) which according to internet sources should be on the soundtrack is missing from the DVD. The film was a superhit in 1967, and won Filmfare awards for that year for Nutan (Best Actress) and Laximkant - Pyarelal (Best Music). Nevertheless, I personally didnt at all like the film (Nutan delivers a good performance as always, but Sunil Dutts character is a tiresome oaf); or even for the music, with the sole exception of the well known Sawan ka mahina song. (Singers for this and the other songs are Lata & Mukesh.)
