Fred Wolf's new comedy The House Bunny has bagged the number one slot on the UK and Ireland box office chart. Starring Anna Faris as a former Playboy Bunny who is ejected from Hugh Hefner's mansion after her 27th birthday - the movie boasted earnings of £894,198 on its first weekend of release. Tropic Thunder has knocked The Dark Knight from the top of the US box office. Burn After Reading takes UK number one

The Coen brothers' latest film Burn After Reading has gone straight to the top of the UK and Ireland box office chart, almost doubling the takings of its closest rival. A black comedy starring Brad Pitt, George Clooney and John Malcovich, the film pulled in some £2.04 million during its first three days in cinemas.
