She's beauty and she's grace

Sandra Bullock plays a rough-around-the-edges FBI agent, sent undercover to infiltrate the most kitschy of events; the 'Miss United States' beauty pagent.
I admit, in theory; it doesn't look too good, but in practise, everything just seems to click and turns 'Miss Congenialty' into a movie that is so much better than it has any right to be.
Ms Bullock steals the show as Grace Hart/Gracie Lou Freebush and shows off her comedic ability to its full extent. The supporting cast of Michael Caine, William Shatner and Candice Bergen also play their respective roles perfectly.
My only (minor) gripe would be that the idea of transforming Sandra Bullock from a frumpy nerd into a glamorous beauty isn't really that unbelievable, but it takes absolutely nothing away from this charming, amusing movie.- Was this review helpful to you?

Five (and a half) stars !!
