Good Action - can't wait for MI:3
By a customer from Northamptonshire , 14 Feb 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
Great update of the 70's series.
Tom Cruise is great as Ethan Hawk. As he now seems to have a hand in the majority of his film choices with his own production company, the man is almost unable to make a bad film.
The stunt work on this film was dangerous and arduous - and the care taken to make these scenes as perfect as possible really shows.
With regard to the poor review listed for this film - I can only conclude that they were watching the original!!!!!
I thought that the supporting cast were actually good on the whole - but the problem of acting on the same screne as Cruise is that if you are not in his league - then I'm afraid that you will pale in comparison. Having been in the game myself, I think that the old saying of 'Never work with children and animals' (because they are usually scene stealers) should also include the rare breed of actor - like Cruise - because by god you have got to be good to score 'evens' never mind actually win a point!!!! Oh, and by the way, I'm not particulally a Cruise fan - but I'm honest enough to give credit where credit is due!
Well worth watching. More please.- Was this review helpful to you?

By ImpossibleFan (7 reviews) , 02 Nov 2012Just as I remembered it, love this film. Stunts still as good as some of todays new films and some technology which looked impossible then, surpassed today- Was this review helpful to you?

By Leesieloo (12 reviews) from Mytchett , 28 Oct 2012Even though this is an old film, I decided to watch it as the newest Mission Impossible looks good. Anyway watched half of it and switched it off. Soooooooooo boring. Just deleted the others from my rental list.- Was this review helpful to you?

need to see more
By 316wwe (38 reviews) from Wembley , 29 Jul 2012I was never going to watch this because I cannot stand Tom Cruise but then someone said I should forget about that and just watch it.
I must say that I really enjoyed this first installment so much that I cannot wait for the rest of the films.
I have realized that it's not always the actor but the films.- Was this review helpful to you?

Mission awfully !!
By nomadicgirl (66 reviews) from Saltash , 10 Jun 2012Not anywhere as good as the Bourne films, unusual not to be able to watch a Tom Cruise film but this just didn't do it, I frankly couldn't figure out who the goodies or the baddies were and by the time I had I was totally bored.- Was this review helpful to you?
