The first half of the film is excellent, it’s based on the true science of our first mission to mars but somewhere around the middle of the film everything goes to heck. All the interesting science goes out the window and it turns into a predictable and un-realistic sci-fi flick.

There are some good tie-ins with current myths about mars and the acting is of a good standard but all in all not a memorable film.
