    [Highly rated reviewer]

Alan Parker's disturbing depiction of America's deep south is perhaps his finest acheivement to date. Gene Hackman's menacing though powerful portrayal of Agent Rupert Anderson is most certainly his!

Gene Hackman's performance owns this classic Alan Parker movie that has three civil right activists go missing at the centre, based on a true stoty. Shocking and thought provoking.

One of the greatest movies ever made. As a lifelong Alan Parker fan, I honestly thought he had peaked with the phenomenal Midnight Express, but how wrong I was. To this day, I still don't understand how Alan Parker or Gene Hackman, didn't win an oscar for it.

  • Gene Hackman - Can't go wrong

When it came to this film I really can't say I have seen anything about 1960's Southern States in America that could beat it. I've always heard that if Gene Hackman is in a film it can't go wrong, and I saw nothing to disprove that in this film. I loved every minuet and will probably re-rent to watch again later.

  • An Alan Parker classic.

I've seen this at least 5 times and I never tire of it. Excellent performances from all the cast, just not Dafoe and Hackman, as the tale is told of the FBI trying to find three Civil Rights Workers in the deep South of the USA in 1960's.

Based on a true story, I really appreciated how some of the points were put across and detailed the attitdues held at the time, and how that came to be.

    A must see.

Good film Of a true story is defiantly worth a watch. The only bad point I can make about this film is that it dragged on towards the end
