You don't wake up wanting to be someone's mistress - somehow it just happens. Set in a world where friends have become the new family, Mistresses follows the lives and loves of a group of 30-something girlfriends who met at university. But their lives have taken very different turns. Katie, a doctor and the 'grown-up', has been having an affair, with one of her patients. Whilst her best mate Trudi is grieving the loss of her husband killed in 9/11. And there's Jessica - her anarchic lifestyle supplies lots of gossip and humour - but is there more going on than even her closest friends now about? And then there's happily married Siobhan - or is she? Part drama, part thriller, this is a bold take on modern love.

..or sex!..
Mistresses is a look at love, sex and infidelity TV drama. It's aimed at a female audience, but I suspect probably has a few secret males fans, who only watch because the wife is watching....Hmmm, yeah right, we believe you!...
Mistresses is as the label on the tin says. A drama about four 30 something women friends, in different love/ relationship/ infidelity situations. But all situations have the same binding thread...sex.
Infact, there maybe is too much emphasis on the sex, instead of the characters themselves..this is a minor let-down for me with this series. I wanted to see more interaction between the women and their lovers or partners. But also more interaction with the friends all together. When women get together they have some hilarious and interesting conversations, and this could have been built upon in the series. But, I say its a minor let-down because all four leads are excellent actresses and play their parts brilliantly.
Mistresses does remind me of US hit programme 'Sex and the City'. The concept is very similar, four friends in different life, love and relationship situations, occasionally meeting up to discuss where they are in life...Its all there..
I would recommend this series to anyone that loves their drama, with a bit of humour thrown in, and brilliant acting...A British 'Sex In The City'
worth watching enjoyed it wasent what i was expecting even better
