Sex, drugs and POWER METAL!!!
By a customer from England , 07 Mar 2009[Highly rated reviewer]
I watched this anime when it came out in Japan and I loved every minute of it. It's not often I find an anime, or indeed anything, I can say that about.
This series was made to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the AT-X network in Japan and, thus, collaborated all the greatest parts of all anime and essentially brought them together into one epic anime: Mnemosyne.
Story: The story is one of surprising depth. I won't go into details, but you'll definitely be looking forward to the next episode every single time. The only bad things I'll say are that it occasionally gets confusing and may require a re-watch, and they occasionally go into random eroticism which seems somewhat unnecessary.
Graphics: Amazing. The animation companies Xebec and Genco really pulled out the stops for this. I just wish they released this on blu-ray as you'd be blown away by the sheer quality!
Music: The opening and ending theme are performed by one of my favourite Japanese bands: Galneryus. They are an amazing power metal band which really fits the themes of the show. Other than that, the soundtrack isn't much of note. Largely ambient and fit the theme, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Overall:
Story: 4 stars
Graphics: 5 stars
Music: 4 stars
Overall: 4.5 stars - a definate watch for all anime fans as long as you don't mind the gory and erotic visuals.- Was this review helpful to you?
