Excellent for cold winter evenings
By Sara from Oxford , 25 Nov 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
A thumping good series with the impeccable and much-missed John Thaw in the title role. Some excellent support, especially in the cafe, and it captures the spirit of war-torn France well. A touch of Seecret Army about it too! Well worth watching....- Was this review helpful to you?

Different Role for John Thaw
By a customer from Cheshire England , 06 Mar 2008I always enjoy John Thaw in whatever he does. The role of Monsignor Renard is certainly a different one than he normally plays. I thought the dvd was rather dark in places and I was not sure if the dvd was defective or it was because of the subject matter - I think probably the latter. However, John Thaw is good although I thought the production a little bitty and not flowing. But having said that I enjoyed it and it does probably depict the time of the invasion and capitulation of France in WW2 .- Was this review helpful to you?
