When California girl Susan Murphy is unwittingly clobbered by a meteor full of outer space gunk on her wedding day, she mysteriously grows to 49-feet-11-inches tall. The military jumps into action and Susan is captured and secreted away to a covert government compound. There, she is renamed Ginormica and placed in confinement with a ragtag group of Monsters: the brilliant but insect-headed Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D.; the macho half-ape, half-fish The Missing Link; the gelatinous and indestructible B.O.B.; and the 350-foot grub called Insectosaurus. Their confinement is cut short, however, when a mysterious alien robot lands on Earth and begins storming the country. In a moment of desperation, the President is persuaded to enlist the motley crew of Monsters to combat the Alien Robot and save the world from imminent destruction.

If you've ever seen a Dreamworks animated film before then there is nothing new here at all. Certainly nothing in the way of jokes or visual humour, I wonder if they've finally run out of fresh ideas? The 3d works superbly well though & is worth seeing for that alone.
I have to say that I loved this film, it was silly and had a simple but enjoyable storyline.
It's what you would expect from an animated childrens film. Lots of ridiculous jokes and ludicrous, lovable characters!
As always there are some jokes for the adults and plenty to keep the kids quoting the silly stuff for ages after. (well my son is anyway!)
Go see if you liked Shrek, Toy Story, and Madagascar.
Well, they’ve finally done it. Fifteen years since the studio’s first feature, and on movie number ten, Pixar has gone and made a picture about ordinary people. Not toys, not bugs, not monsters, not fish, not superheroes, not rats, not robots… Just people. And what do you know, the results are every bit as funny, wise, charming and poignant as before. Up is the story of a grumpy old man deeply attached to his home of many decades. When the developers won’t take no for... Read more
