The director deserves an awardBy a customer from Stanwich , 23 Nov 2010
[Highly rated reviewer]I watched this film in New York last week and for being made on the reported budget it is great.
Excellent acting performances, good characters, dialogue, soundtrack, locations and effects.
It feels real so you care about what is happening to the people, it is not just a mish mash of special effects and rubbish characters who do nothing that you would do in real life that you get from hollywood these days. They should learn something from this.
Well worth seeing, even although it's called Monsters you can even take the girlfriend/wife to see this one!

This was so good!By a customer , 20 May 2013In short:
The film had excellent direction and the cinematography was beautiful.
The film is more drama than action but the drama is very interesting and entertaining. The world it portrays is realistic and immersive. I don't often watch films more than once, but this is worth more than one watch.
I highly recommend this film.
Really enjoyable despite the not so interesting title!By MzBizkitz (67 reviews) , 21 Apr 2013I have to say I greatly misinterpreted this film at the beginning believing it was going to be another silly story however I was very pleasantly surprised. It's slowness helps it along and in the end I actually started to like the monsters.
Poor sci-fi offeringBy fairylegs (5 reviews) from Beverley , 25 Mar 2013In a word jibberish - self-indulgent characters, with whom one could not possibly relate , making silly decisions throughout the film. A weak plot not helped by laughable special effects reflecting a minimal production budget. Not worth the price of admission, I'm afraid. Fairylegs
Stunning piece of cinema.By elcap (2 reviews) from Holmfirth , 22 Mar 2013
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideAbsolutely stunning, like all good sci fi films, there is so much more than just aliens. Very tender central story, set amongst stunning visuals. Watch it with no preconceptions and you will love it. Look and listen carefully to the beginning and the end and you will see that this is incredibly bitter sweet film. Enjoy.
Average Film !!By a customer , 27 Feb 2013I was expecting better, it was very slow at times, but it could have been worse, it passed a couple of hours on a cold and windy day I would not recommend it
