Though directed by a woman (Jennifer Leitzes) and centering around a female assassin (Kyra Sedgwick) framed and pursued by gun-wielding mobsters, this crime drama doesn't have any ambitions to offer a feminist perspective. The focus is definitely more on dialogue and characters than violence, though, which makes the bloody shoot-outs seem slightly out of place. The best and most original parts of the movie are its bizarre flashes of humour, while the cast is certainly worth a look (Robbie Coltrane, John Ritter, Philip Seymour Hoffman).
