Still funny
By a customer from Notting Hill, London , 17 Sep 2003[Highly rated reviewer]
OK, so the Pythons are all grey now and doing TV commercials that they shouldn't, but this is probably the best introduction to Python you can get.
I showed my girlfriend this as a first taste of Python (she grew up on Mars ...) and we were both in stitches -- so many funny parts to this I won't even try to pick a favourite -- actually, I will, the 'Bring out your dead' bit is hilarious.
Bit of a weak ending though, just like this review...- Was this review helpful to you?

Something completly different
By tiger36 (10 reviews) from HOUGHTON-LE-SPRING , 02 May 2012It's years since I saw this at the pictures - as a teenager I laughed out loud all the way through!
As a 50 year old, I did just the same...
It's all the better watching it on blu-ray, than seeing it the countless times it has been on the telly. The detail is really involving.
So, this is still a very silly film, let down by the poor ending. The Life of Brian was much better, but I feel they were similarly lost on how to wrap up all those brilliant visual gags.- Was this review helpful to you?

As funny as ever
By SomeCallMeTim (1 review) , 30 Dec 2011OK so this is my first review, and I see it as a not close to worthy tribute to this film which was my introduction to Monty Python. Watching this film with my dad as a 12 year old there were bits that I found hilarious. Watching it over the years there is not one scene where I haven't at some point needed to swallow the drink in my mouth for fear of spitting it over my friends head. The opening credits give a clue of whats to come, unashamed hilarity. Watching it now as a 24 year old I am amazed at how this film still has me in stitches 12 years after my first viewing. Whether it is a first watch, or a one hundreth this film is typical python: comical, random, imaginitive and most of all utterly hilarious.- Was this review helpful to you?
