I loved this prog! A Vampire with a difference thats what I like to see. Alex O'Loughlin (Mick - the Vampire) is a kick ass Vampire, great eye candy and is also a really good actor. I was sad to hear that they are not making anymore episodes of the show so we won't get to see what would have been....
Great series for any Vampire obsessed fan.
I try to take a measured view of vampire genre entertainment. I may be a fan, but we all know that for every 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' there are several 'Kindred - The Embraced's out there.
Moonlight starts off looking like the latter: The pilot is badly written, badly directed, bland and feeling like a low budget version of the 80's 'Beauty & The Beast' series (schmaltzy romance for the over 30s housewife). But don't let the pilot show put you off!
By the end of the first disc the series is already growing into a snappy piece of genre TV with many of the wrinkles ironed out, a solid cast and enough grim goings-on to counteract the sugar.
Yes, it is a romance. Yes, the male lead ticks all the housewife boxes, but yes, it's also worth watching. Not a AAA title, but nowhere near a B class show either: Solid vampire entertainment.
