No, I'm not kiddin at all.

What on earth is a superstar of quality doing in this vehicle. Without googling, my best guess is that he is doing an enormous favour for a VERY good friend ( or a friend of Calista's) who was involved in trying to get the film made at all; OR he knows the star of the film ----that giant of the screen ermmmm, Rachel McSomebody :)) and is trying to give her a helping hand.

The film warrants 2. 5 stars IMHO but I give it 3 simply because of Ford's very amusing, excellent and beautifully understated performance.

Just a pity that one of the best screen figures of his generation has to add this movie to his filmography.

You'll want to get round to watching it sometime, but don't hurry.......there's plenty more to see before you reach this film on your list of ones to see. Pity.........

  • Something to watch only if you are really stuck

Barely 2 starts: predictable story line with no surprises. Considering the cast, I would have expected it to be much better. Diane Keaton out acts the rest of the cast...as usual.

it not a bad film - it instantly forgettable and it not a repeat watch even if its on TV. But i would recommend if you want to watch a film with very little thought process requirement and a few chuckles here and there

Dull, no plot, irritating female lead. If Harrison Ford was dead he'd be turning in his grave to have his name associated with this film.

  • Youthful optimism collides with mature cynicism

Very lightweight comedy. It's a very American fantasy, can-do youthful optimism wins the day as a cute bubbly hard working tv show producer tries to turn around a failing TV morning show. The comedy comes from her clashes with an old bad tempered and difficult news anchor and her old and sarcastic boss(Jeff Goldblum). It is funny in parts and is by no means a bad movie, but in the end it was just too cute a fantasy for my tastes. The best scene was near the beginning of the movie when the there is a huge build up of sugary optimism over a possible promotion, and she gets an enormous slap in the face instead. It wasn't funny but it was good drama.

  • Boring Glory!

    Rated - 2.5 stars

Ok, maybe boring is unfair however with the cast & going on some previous reviews I expected more laughs than it delivered. The foundation for the plot is promising with the key players are all set to go but then the story (& laughs) move in slow motion. Nothing really happens that has not been seen before. Don't think Rachel McAdams quite pulls comedy or empathy off unlike Sandra Bullock in The Proposal. Ideal viewing for Sunday evening TV movie though.
