Morning Raga
Swarnalatha (Azmi) is a talented Carnatic vocalist whose dreams of singing in the city crash along with the bus on which she is riding from her little South Indian village to the city. The accident on the bridge linking the village to the city becomes the metophorical Lakshman-rekha Swarnalatha will no longer cross, blaming herself for the death of her best friend (and son) in the accident. Twenty years later, the common love for music brings three people together — three people who are bound by not just music but also whose pasts are also connected. Abhinay (Prakash Rao) and Pinkie/Priyanka (Perizaad Zorabian) are two young people who straddle tradition and modernity – oscillating between the two worlds with surprising ease. Like their music, village life and traditional music fuse with modern sounds and rhythms.
