From writer/director Katherine Dieckmann, the acclaimed filmmaker of Diggers and A Good Baby, comes Motherhood, starring Uma Thurman, Anthony Edwards and Minnie Driver. Shot entirely on location in New York's West Village, this bittersweet comedy distills the dilemmas of the maternal state (marriage, work, self, and not necessarily in that order) into the trials and tribulations of one pivotal day. Motherhood takes place in a single day that pushes to the tipping point Eliza's fundamental fear she's lost herself. Starting at dawn, her to-do list is daunting: prepare for and throw her daughter's 6th birthday party, mind her toddler son, battle for a parking space during an epic alternate side parking showdown, navigate playground politics with overbearing moms, and mend a rift with after posting her best friend's confession on her blog. On top of it all, Eliza decides to enter a contest run by an upscale parenting magazine. All she has to do is write 500 words answering the deceptively simple question, "What Does Motherhood Mean to Me?"

Could be better

This film, like the child stars who feature in it, will probably get better with time. For now, it gives the impression of having been made in a hurry. Uma Thurman is totally wasted here.

Tired predictable trying to be sex and the city

simply stated i got 20 minutes into this film and was so sick of the stereotypes and contrived situations i couldn't be bothered .

Keep Going ON and ON

What mother has to do within the time limit given to her. From the moment she gets up to the moment she goes to bed. Mothers should be given a white gold star worth their weight in gold. I would like to say we are not parents BUT watching this film made us both think. The above 100% you have to give, amazing.

Very disappointing

I had high hopes for this film, not just because of Uma Thurman.

It's slow, desperately trying to be funny and rarely succeeding and verging on insulting to busy, working mothers.

What's the plot? Dunno, didn't discover one.

Shame as it could have had potential.
