Mr and Mrs Smith set for TV adaptation

Mr and Mrs Smith, the film which famously united Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie for the first time, is to be made into a television series. Although neither will star in the adaptation, the original writer and director are signed on to remake the assassin-themed comedy for the small screen, reports Empire. Nicole Kidman is set to take the lead role in forthcoming action movie The Eighth Wonder, it has been confirmed. The 20th Century Fox production – based on an archaeological discovery - is to be penned by Simon Kinberg, who worked with the Australian actress on an early version of Mr and Mrs Smith. The latest offering from Angelina Jolie has been reviewed and the actress has received praise for her role as real-life character Mariane Pearl, whose husband was beheaded by terrorists in 2002.
