Standard loser gets sucess comedy fare

Mr Woodock (Billy Bob Thornton) is well cast as the sargeant major gym teacher at high school who puts his pupils through a humilating wringer, one of his class 'Farley' (Sean William Scott) is a particular favourite pupil, due to having a bit of puppy fat present he gets some special attention from Woodock, but lo and behold later in life becomes a slim writer of mentoring and life enhancement books. Before bumping into Woodock again in an excruciatingly awkward way potentially for both of them. Yes, this does sound pretty samey so far, its a never offensive quite funny standard comedy, but nothing more I'm afraid, a sort of sunday afternoon lazy watch rather than a nailed on must see. If you liked Thornton in 'Bad Santa' you might find this o.k., if not it is similar ground and you would be forgiven for giving this a miss.

    Irritating Comedy!

I would give this movie a miss. I found the main actors really irritating to watch and the storyline infantile. Not for me, thanks!

    dissapointing

very poor showing yet again by william-scot. why dose he take such dud rolls? some one give him a slap.

the highlights of this DVD are all seen in the trailer, and it should keep to being that long for the full film. the plot is tired and very predictable. So predictable i won't even go into it as you can probably guess it yourselves.

The gags are all ones that williams has done before in american pie, and maybe he just wants to play safe and repeat his name makeing style of film (i think i've just awnsered my own original question)

the other actors do not help, even the mighty ethen suple (can't spell) is poor in this very below average comedy

    okay film....

A very average film - funny at times. Still cant get 'Stiffler' (American Pie) out of my head whenever I see the lead young actor (his name escapes me!)

'Randy' (My name is Earl) was great - infact he stole the show for me....

    ZZZZZZZZ

If you've seen the trailer - you've seen the film.

I love Bill-Bob and was hoping for another 'Bad Santa' from this film.

Unfortunately all the funny bits are in teh trailer and there's nothing else funny in the film.

Don't waste you time with this one - I suggest watching Bad Santa again or just watch the trailer.

    Mr Woodcock

Excellent film, great one for the family to watch together. Lots of laughs and I'm sure we can all remember a teacher like this at school. Good light hearted comedy.

    PE experiences re-lived

If you ever had a PE teacher who hated kids you'll identify with this film,it's not a laugh a minute but there are some very funny pieces.

    Great for a Sunday afternoon

    Oh Dear

Unfortunately Billy Bob and Mr Scott have sunk to depths so low with this one that I'm not sure that they will make it back up ever again, avoid at all costs if you can.
