Classic Love Story - Epic
By a customer from England , 09 Feb 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
If anyone has seen the original in Black and White - you will be glad to know this is just a digitally remade copy of the same film in colour.
This classic 50's ish film is based on the true story of a Moghul Prince falling in love with a maid.
If you like your modern flicks and a quick paced movie - then this is not for you. If you are a romantic with the love for poetry and classic bollywood then this is a must see!- Was this review helpful to you?

(22)Mughal-E-Azam
By a customer from Surrey , 06 Mar 2009This is truley a classic starring Dulip. I hadn't seen it for many years and watching it again I thoroughly enjoyed it. Set in the hight of the Mugal Empire, it shows the strickt regime the Emporers lived in and how relaxed attitude of the young prince brings conflict between Father and Son and how the Emporer has to protect the honour of the Empire.
Excellent film. Far superior than any of the modern, inferior Bollywood copies of Holliwood blockbusters.- Was this review helpful to you?

Mughal E Azam
By Shama (33 reviews) from Hayes , 17 Feb 2009Wow - how long was this epic??? I wanted to see what all of the fuss was about and almost wished I hadn't. Madhubala spends most of her time crying and playing the stereotypical down trodden woman. It was good but not as good as I thought it would be.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer from Ruislip , 23 Feb 2008This movie is an all time favourite.Only comment is that I expected it to be fully transformed from black & white into colour whereas the DVD was b&w with one song in colour.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not the re-release version
By a customer from Oxford, UK , 25 Sep 2007I was very disappointed as I couldn't watch this - there were no sub-titles, or at least I couldn't get them to work, and it was the original black & white version not the much more recent colour re-release.- Was this review helpful to you?
