Cult filmmaker David Lynch is to be honoured with the top award at the Cologne Conference Film and TV Festival in Germany on Friday (01Oct10). The veteran director, whose credits include Mulholland Drive, Wild at Heart, Eraserhead, and TV show Twin Peaks, will be handed the prestigious Cologne Film Prize at the annual event to mark his long-running career. David Lynch has been handed the ultimate honour by the American Film Institute - the director has been put in charge of the upcoming AFI Fest. The Mulholland Drive moviemaker has been named the first ever Guest Artistic Director of the famous film festival, which takes place in Los Angeles in November (10).
