Muppet Treasure Island review

We all remember cycling back home on Sundays for the muppet show, a kids' show so good your mum used to find an excuse to do the ironing in the lounge just so that she could sit in. The films captured the brilliance of the shows, they were witty and, like 'treasure island', surprisingly faithful to the original stories. Like MIss Piggy, there is a big butt here : the films humour revolves around seeing our favorite characters hopelessly miscast in some classic tale. If you do not know the Muppet show, half the gags just do not work. So while I loved this film, my kids sat through it stony - faced. What a pity.
