The Muppets take on Robert Louis Stevenson in their inimitable way in this rollicking musical version of the pirate saga. Using the bare bones of the classic story as a framework, director Brian Henson press-gangs the likes of Billy Connolly, Jennifer Saunders and Tim Curry into service for a series of hilarious cameos, accompanied by some rousing songs and the now customary romance between Miss Piggy and Kermit. Adults may find the voyage a long haul, but children will love it.
A rollicking, unmemorable musical treatment of an oft-told tale which has some difficulty accommodating the story to its Muppet characters: Miss Piggy appears as Benjamina Gunn, Fozzie Bear is Squire Trelawney and Kermit becomes Captain Smollett.
