Wesley Snipes delivers another of his one-dimensional tough guys in this uninspired, cliché-ridden action thriller. Snipes stars as a Washington DC homicide detective who's called in to investigate a murder at the White House (1600 Pennsylvania Avenue). As he delves deep into the crime with secret service agent Diane Lane he begins to uncover a conspiracy that may reach all the way to the president himself. Unfolding like a cheap novel, director Dwight Little's routine mystery generates little suspense and even less interest as the sloppy scenario keeps falling apart, adding further implausibility to a yarn that's already hard to swallow.
