Muriel is a lost soul ...
By a customer from Richmond , 01 Sep 2003[Highly rated reviewer]
Muriel is a lost soul and we all know how that feels at times. She is stuck with an appauling family. Her mother is a little crazy and sad. Her brother and sister are no-hopers, and her dad is a wanna be politician who has no real interested in his family. Her friends are real backstabbers and treat her appaulingly. That is until she steels her dads cash and takes a holiday of a lifetime.
Everything changes for Muriel and you rejoice with her.
You must watch this if you are a fan of feel-good movies with lots of laughs and a wonderful ABBA soundtrack.- Was this review helpful to you?

By open (231 reviews) , 03 Dec 2012An Oldie but such a fantastic goodie. Collette proves why she is such a great actress in this bitter sweet tale of weddings. PJ Hogamn has never anything as good again.- Was this review helpful to you?

By Malaprop (6 reviews) from Bolton England , 02 Nov 2011I will never get fed up of this film.
She turns her life around and its a real go girls film.
When it first came out it was billed as a comedy but its not- its bittersweet .
And the dresses are gorgeous.- Was this review helpful to you?

Triumph over disaster
By a customer , 25 Jun 2011A young girl from a very dysfunctional family makes good. This film is original and upbeat, despite the difficulties of the family background. Sadness is there but so is resilience and a fighting spirit.
If you like Abba music, you'll probably enjoy this film more than if you don't!- Was this review helpful to you?

Pure Brilliance
By Brill (5 reviews) , 19 Jun 2011I absolutely adore this film. Toni Collette is one of the best actresses to come out of Australia. I enjoyed the film from begining to end, from the fun moments to the sad moments and most of all the songs. I recommend this film to anyone young or old. You do not need to be an ABBA fan to enjoy it. It has you laughing and crying, a wonderful rollercoaster ride, top marks to the actors and director.- Was this review helpful to you?
