If anyone wants an example of a DVD that's utter rubbish and a lesson in how not to create a documentary, this is it. The 'biography' is a not very knowledgable 'rock historian' saying a few things about George Harrison that everyone knows anyhow, merged with a small number of randomly selected and unrepresentative interviews. They don't even bother covering the timeline of his life properly. The filming of the new commentary is worse than I would expect from a home video. The background music is intrusive and in the most part unrelated to George Harrison (I think I heard an instrumental theme from 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' once). The whole thing is just rubbish.
This film failed to do justice to this exstrodinary musican. it failed to address Georges life long quest for spiritual knowladge and his dedication to KRISHNA God. It was such a central theme of his life and it wasnt mentioned. Even when he was attacked the first word on his lips was Krishna !!! He had a full indian Krishna devotee funeral in india. and this film didnt even touch on it just some idot saying 'unfortunaltly he was into some strange stuff' !!! Rubbish he was really a devotee of God and his music and message were clear. But not in this very very poor film...
