  • What did you do in the war Daddy?

    [Highly rated reviewer]

Joe Eszterhaz is not one of my favourite screen writers-remember Showgirls-but this is a class above anything else he has done for the screen.

The story of a father accused of war crimes is based on his own experience-his Hungarian father was similarly accused.

Acting excellent and while certain aspects of the plot are too neatly resolved it's got to be appreciated that this is a Hollywood movie not a documentary.

    A good watch.

... poor title for the film. Enjoyable but somewhat of a 'budget movie' and a little dated too but overall not a bad film

  • Solid but unspectacular

A solid enough effort that could've been a lot better but for the fact that its conclusion was utterly obvious. This film is certainly not a patch on 'Schindler's List', although some of the witness testimonies were moving and well delivered.

If you are looking for a more gripping exploration of the relationship between Nazism and 'modern' America then 'Skokie' is well worth looking at.
