What did you do in the war Daddy?
By a customer from Brighton England , 19 Feb 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
Joe Eszterhaz is not one of my favourite screen writers-remember Showgirls-but this is a class above anything else he has done for the screen.
The story of a father accused of war crimes is based on his own experience-his Hungarian father was similarly accused.
Acting excellent and while certain aspects of the plot are too neatly resolved it's got to be appreciated that this is a Hollywood movie not a documentary.
A good watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

Good film, good story, good acting but...
By a customer from OXON , 16 Jun 2008... poor title for the film. Enjoyable but somewhat of a 'budget movie' and a little dated too but overall not a bad film- Was this review helpful to you?

Solid but unspectacular
By Salv (33 reviews) from Hayling Island , 21 May 2007A solid enough effort that could've been a lot better but for the fact that its conclusion was utterly obvious. This film is certainly not a patch on 'Schindler's List', although some of the witness testimonies were moving and well delivered.
If you are looking for a more gripping exploration of the relationship between Nazism and 'modern' America then 'Skokie' is well worth looking at.- Was this review helpful to you?
