Or you can rent each disc individually:
If you want to know the life story of Benito Mussolini from the moment he stepped into power to the very end where his body was displayed to a baying crowd upside down alongside his lover, then George C Scott's portrayal of the Italian dictator is compelling. I am not giving anything away - this is HISTORY for goodness sake! I would have liked this film to have spanned three discs and covered his earlier years as a Socialist and how (and why) he created the Fascist movement. Nevertheless, it remains a brilliant insight into the era - a pity they couldn't find a better Hitler lookalike though!
If you've ever wondered how an important historical character can be reduced to a character in a bad American soap, this film shows you how it can be done. From the word go, it has the look of a TV movie and nothing in the script could convince you otherwise. From the ridiculous mix of accents (e.g. Mussolini's sons are played by Gabriel Byrne and Robert Downey Jr.) to the shockingly scant coverage of any important political events, this film becomes almost a comedy (up to a point - then you just want to switch it off). I can only assume that someone blackmailed the great George C. Scott to appear in this farce of a film.
