Unecessary attempt to modernise
This production is pretty good but spoilt by trying to modernise it by the use of rifles. It drops one star for this reason. In other respects, yhe cast are for the most part excellent. However this performance comes second to the Vienna State Opera production, which has an even better cast with an really excellent Dosifei .Worth viewing but do not miss the Austrian production.
