Not quite alive, but nearly.

I was a big fan of the previous game and had never played a MX vs ATV game before. The last game eased you in gently and whilst the game was loading you could drive around a hub level, enabling you to hone your abilities.
There is no tutorial in this that I could see and there is no hub between loading screens.
You only get 4 tracks that are unlocked at the start and 2 open playground levels where you just pratt about doing stunts for points.
I completed the 4 races however even after coming first I was only level 5 or something... to unlock the next racing track you had to be at level 10... so you'd have to re-tread through the same tracks or really go to town on the playground levels.
Achievement wise, this game throws them at you! I'm only of average ability when it comes to these types of racers and found the computer AI really easy to beat.
The music isn't great but the core gameplay that was in the previous version remains intact, but I'd say rent Reflex over Alive as it's just that bit better.- Was this review helpful to you?

Simply shocking...

Awful let down, previous version were much better
By kamikz (2 reviews) , 16 Feb 2012Awful, have to level up so much before you can unlock any extra tracks, so I ended up racing the same 3 tracks over and over and got bored before I'd managed to level up enough.
