Irene Dunne, having disappeared seven years earlier in a shipwreck, shows up alive and well just as her husband, Cary Grant, is about to remarry. With a screenplay (by Sam and Bella Spewack) that burns brightly for most of the way and a scintillating cast, this hit romantic comedy remains a delight. Producer Leo McCarey had directed the 1937 Dunne/Grant smash hit The Awful Truth and was due to direct this one, but had to let Garson Kanin take over after being involved in a serious car crash. It was remade in 1963 as Move Over, Darling, with Doris Day and James Garner.

    Unbelievable

Started off very well, with a seen it all before judge doing a ver funny cameo, but almost immediately launched in to the most unbelievable plot you could ever come up with. I won't tell you what it involved but if you find you can go along with it all the best. The only redeeming feature is Cary Grant's performance, which at times he made so effortless, as if he really went along with all the hokum. No classic for me.
