bruce cambell is great, the evil dead franchise was a huge success made so in part to cambell. expect more thrills, gore and laugh out loud black comedy from the king of b movie cult classics.- Was this review helpful to you?

(59)It's a film for fans of The Chin & for them only.
By Palmerama (13 reviews) from Wolverhampton , 09 May 2013[Highly rated reviewer]
While the plot of an actor being mistaken for a real hero has been done before (Galaxy Quest & Three Amigos), this is the Bruce Cambell version, and neither of those films had The Chin in them (though I would love to think how he could have improved them). This film is definately for the fans of Bruce Cambell. The ones who know of his other films apart from The Evil Dead trilogy. Whilst the plot is rather flismy it's Cambell's perfromance of an exaggerated verion of himself that really makes the film enjoyable. If you're not a fan of Cambell then you won't like this film.- Was this review helpful to you?

if you love Campbell you'll love this,-avoid if you dont.
By Bennyfromlondon (7 reviews) , 27 Jun 2012It's as simple as that really,
- if (like me) you think Bruce Campbell is the king of the B-movie, love his one-liners, his swagger and his ability to make even the dodgiest of films work then there's plenty of fun to be had here.
It's not in the same league as Evil Dead, but it doesn't try to be. This feels (as I'm sure it was intended) to be a Bruce Campbell film for Bruce Campbell fans.
You can tell that everyone involved had a great time making it just for the sheer hell of it, -especially with Campbell sending himself up in every scene.
Look out for references (and cameos) to his other films throughout.
However.......
If you're not that big a fan of the man himself or his films then this really isn't the movie for you.- Was this review helpful to you?

One for the Die-Hrd Campbell fans...
By Jimboski (1 review) , 10 Sep 2011I expected this to be bad, and it delivered, Campbell plays up to his persona perfectly, and the films full of in-jokes and shemping. The film delivered on what I expected, hence the 4 stars. And for some reason, I really want to see Cave-Alien 2 now...- Was this review helpful to you?
