Granted, I would watch Diane Lane in anything . . .

. . . but this is a beautifully off-beat movie. DL is typically wonderful, playing a suburban housewife, stunned by the banality of her conventional existence, whose life begins to change when her husband brings home a gun. Le Gros does well as her enigmatic neighbor, and there's real chemistry between them. The tone of the film is nicely managed, too -- although clearly satirical, and sometimes played quite broadly for laughs, there is also an undercurrent of genuine danger that keeps us on our toes, and it's not really clear where the movie is going until it gets there.
