I will keep this short and sweet - a very powerful and moving film, showing how a terminal illness can effect not just the sufferer but also the different members of the family. Some fantastic acting - and an accurate portrayal of Leukaemia - a truly horrible disease which took my own brother at the age of 4. A real emotional rollercoaster - capturing some magical moments as well as some heart wrenching scenes - get the tissues ready.

  • One sister engineered to save the life of another

Sister A has cancer so parents Jason Patric (where has he been since “The lost boys”? Finally got another acting job!!) and Cameron Diaz genetically engineer sister Abigail Breslin so she can donate kidneys and other bits and pieces to help her sister survive. It’s a well made film, questioning the ethics of this and Alec Baldwin is great as the lawyer who represents sister B who no longer wants to be subjugated to medical operations for her sister. Nice little surprise as to why she is really suing her parents for medical emancipation (I didn’t see that one coming). Don’t watch if you are already in a sad mood, as it’s depressing viewing! Not sure why all the complaints about a weak ending? They tied up all the loose ends and going to Montana to holiday made perfect sense as the sick sister loved Montana.

I absolutely loved this film. The acting was great, particularly from the children. I thought the end completely fitted the rest of the film. I would definitely recommend this.

  • very moving film

The Movie was excellent but the ending was weak. This covered an issue I have always had mixed feelings about, and covered it well. I did wonder why little Sis made the decision she did when she obviously loved her sister and didn't want her do die, but I also figured that the older sister loved her little sister too ... Little Sis showed incredible courage and love. It hit home hard for me and it had me in floods of tears. Would have given 5 stars if it hadn't have been for the week ending

Brilliant film, not my usual genre and although predictable at times it is very moving, very well acted and some of the effects are great.
