    Not so super

A man goes out with a girl he meets on a train, not knowing that she is really a superhero, but because of her fits of madness he drops her, but she wants revenge. This wasn't the best of films for me. I liked to superhero bits and after the main guy dumps the hero it gets better, but even though the movies called 'My Super EX-girlfriend' it takes over an hour for him to dump her, so most of the movie is taken up with him going out with her, which doesn't make much sense. Anyway, 2 stars for some good bits, but theres not that many.

    Don't bother

This is a real missed opportunity, the set-up is comedy gold but the makers have forgotten to put any comedy in. Instead we are bombarded with noisy special effects, a weak script, a mis-cast Eddie Izzard and are left no wiser as to why Uma Thurman's character is the way she is.

My wife described it as 'cack'. That was a super review.

My brother said it was 'hilarious' but he is an idiot.

    Not really suitable for kids...

We watched this with our children. This film is certificated 12. BE WARNED - there are sex scenes and bad language. We are not prudes by any stretch of the imagination BUT this film is not appropriate for families.

Finally - it wasn't very funny either!

    My Not so Super Ex-Girlfriend

How to sum up this film in one word? Yawn. So disappointed i could almost cry. The storyline is weak, i dont care about any of the characters and i got so bored and restless i didnt watch the ending. Moral of the story? We already know that women are crazy, they dont need super powers to prove that. Rent how to lose a guy in 10 days instead.

    Pleasantly surprised

I wasn't sure what to expect from this, but as my title suggests I was pleasantly surprised. This is such a good take on a 'super-hero' film, especially when Uma Thurman's character becomes the 'ex-girlfriend'. How many of us wish we had the powers to make good on our threats to make him 'regret this'.

There are some excellent lines in this film and although Eddie Izzard was an odd choice for the villain, he did a fairly decent job. I recommend everyone takes a risk on this, I think you'll all be pleasantly surprised.

    Not Uma's finest moment!!

Hmm, what to say about this one.... it's a very average film really considering it stars some big names - Uma Thurman, Eddie Izzard, Luke Wilson (brother of the more well known Owen Wilson). It should have been really funny, but in all honestly although it was certainly entertaining and easily watchable, it barely raised a snigger. Uma just seems awkward and mis-placed in this role, she trying to be funny but her timing is off. She's trying to be a Clark Kent style geek/hottie double persona but her acting is off. Eddie Izzard is not seen nearly enough in the film for him to make any kind of impact. Luke Wilson probably saves the day a bit for this movie as this kind of role really suits his style. It's an ok film, easily watchable but equally as easily forgettable... goodish plot, really bad choice of cast.
